If time doesn’t permit, head directly to Wandoor jetty to catch a boat to Jolly buoy or Red Skin island (whichever is operational). 1:30 PM: Enjoy your day trip, have lunch, take some cool pictures, reels, and spend quality time on the island. Plan to return around 1:30 PM. While Indian tourists require a forest permit, foreigners require a restricted area permit to visit Wandoor Beach and access within the park. Special licenses are collected from the Department of Tourism or forest officials to visit the secluded Red Skin and Jolly Buoy Island. Please carry a valid ID for verification, along with any necessary permits, which must be checked at Wandoor jetty.  

As ferries or speedboats to Jolly Buoy operate from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., it is advisable to reach the Jetty point 45 minutes early to secure a seat. Expect to return by 2:00 p.m. as boat services stop by evening.   

There are very limited food stalls and restaurants available near the beach, so it’s best to carry your own meal and water. Basic amenities, such as toilets, ATMs, and medicines, are available in the panchayat or along the Port Blair-Wandoor road.   

Water activities and swimming are strictly prohibited at Wandoor Beach as it is a crocodile sanctuary. Stay within the limit, avoid entering the deep waters, and stay way ahead of the coastlines. Listen to local advisors’ instructions and avoid entering the mangrove zones as well. 

While photography at the beach is permitted, drone usage and photography within restricted zones require prior permission.   

Avoid throwing plastics, littering, drinking, harming corals, or feeding marine life. Respect nature. Carry reusable bottles and bags to support eco-friendly tourism.
