As of 2024, government ferry services operate between Port Blair and Campbell Bay once weekly via Nancowry and Katchal, with halt times of 2 hours and 30 minutes, respectively, at each destination. These vessels are operated by the Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS) and, depending on weather and sea conditions, take about 31 hours (310 nmi) to reach Campbell Bay.

With several sitting classes of varied budget ranges, these ferries have become an ideal and affordable travel option for islanders. Tickets are highly subsidized, and fares are higher for non-Islanders. Currently, private ferries to Camblell Bay are unavailable on this route due to distance and logistic challenges.

This service is currently operated and managed by Indian Air Force Dornier Flights and Pawan Hans I helicopter flies every day at the exact time except Sunday. The total time for a to-and-fro trip to Campbell Bay is about 4.10 to 5.10 hours, depending on flight schedules and weather conditions.

At Port Blair: Check out Helicopter schedules fares, and download the booking form under the Schedule section of the A&N Administration website. Fill out the applications and submit them 2 days before departure to the Assistant Secretary, General Administration, A&N administration secretariat.

At Campbell Bay: Ticket reservations can be made at the assistant commissioner’s office in Campbell Bay.
